Café Littéraire - book club

Do you like to read and talk about books? Have you always wanted to know more about French Literature? Attend our “Café Littéraire” book club and become an avid French reader! Each month, participants will read a novel and enjoy a guided discussion about their reading. The French Book Club is a marvellous way to expand your French reading and speaking skills in a pleasant and relaxed way while discovering major and latest must-read books from France. Suitable for intermediate and advanced French learners.

Café Blabla - conversation club

Would you like to improve your confidence in speaking French? Attend our “Café Blabla” conversation club, a convivial meeting place for the exchange of ideas and discussion on a range of topics! Each month, participants will discuss about a new topic chosen by our teacher. This is a perfect way to expand your fluency and to converse in French in a pleasant and relaxed way. Suitable for intermediate and advanced French learners.

Je joue, je parle - oral club

You learn French but you do not really dare speaking and you lack practicing? Attend our “Je joue, je parle” oral club, a convivial meeting place for French learners who wish to develop their speaking skills through fun activities! Each month, participants will play games, resolve clues or role play about topics chosen by our teacher. This is a perfect way to practice your oral French and expand your vocabulary in a pleasant and relaxed way. Suitable for beginners and elementary learners.

STORY TELLING

One Sunday per month, it is story time at Alliance Française Hangzhou. Come and join us at our Library to introduce your children to Francophone tales in French!

Your children and you will get accustomed to the music and sound of the French language and will be introduced to the vibrant Francophone culture. No knowledge of French is required. After hearing the tale, your child will have the opportunity to draw what he feels about the story. For children aged 3 to 8.

ARTS & CRAFTS

Would you like your child to relax in a francophone environment?

Come and discover our Arts and Craft activities! Small kids will learn to create fun things that are to practice cutting with scissors, drawing and everyday objects. More grown-ups will be able to ply their artistic creativity through various activities tailored for them while learning some French words. Some classes may be complicated enough that a parent must stay with the child, but most classes are great for dropping off your kids while shopping.

LITTLE CHEFS

Our funny cooking workshops are always popular amongst children. For one hour or so, they can become little chefs, assisting in making and decorating easy cakes, creative sandwiches or even pancakes - just like in a real-life French kitchen.

During the process they learn basic culinary terms and food vocabulary and at the end, of course, they can enjoy what they prepared.
